SCT Quarterfinals Scoreboard Sat 2/20



The Shore Conference Semi-Finals are all set for Monday Night at the Pine Belt Arena.
No 1 St John Vianney will take on No 4 St Rose at 6 followed by No 2 Rumson Fair Haven against No 3 Manasquan at 745. Here are some short recaps of today’s action.

At Brookdale College

No 4 St Rose 61, No 5 Middletown South 40

St Rose defeated Middletown South 61-40 to advance to the SCT Semifinals on Monday. They will prepare for a blockbuster matchup with No 1 St John Vianney. Mikayla Markham scored a game high 22 points and put on a shooting clinic by nailing 6 threes. Markham was especially explosive in the first half. Lucy Thomas finished with 16 points and pulled down 11 boards. Loving Marsicano also chipped in with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Jen Louro added 9 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals. The Roses trailed 10-3, but used a 23-4 run in the second quarter to take control of the game. Junior Alexandra Balsamo led Middletown South with 17 points, and Stephanie Karcz added 9.

No 2 Rumson Fair Haven 52, No 7 Neptune 26

Rumson Fair Haven opened the first quarter on a 20-6 run and never looked back, cruising to a 30-16 halftime lead. Both Stephanie Lesko and Hannah Scanlan got into double figures for the Bulldogs with 12, and 10 points respectively. Sophomore Tori Hyduke also added 10 points. Desiree Allen scored her 1000th point in the game. She led the Fliers with 15 points. RFH will play Manasquan on Monday at 745.

No 3 Manasquan 47, No 6 Red Bank Catholic 36

Manasquan held off Red Bank Catholic in a 47-36 win to advance into the SCT Semifinals. Stella Clark led the way with 13 points. Clark was 5/8 from the free throw line and hit two threes. Dara Mabrey also had a solid game with 10 points and a three. Carly Geissler chipped in with another 9 points. RBC battled throughout the game and was able to cut the lead to 5 points in the fourth quarter. Both Amanda Hart and Katie Rice poured in 7 points each for RBC. Maureen Coakley also added 5 points.
At St John Vianney High School

No 1 St John Vianney 68, No 8 Colts Neck 37

The Lancers got a strong performance from both Kimi Evans and Kelly Campbell who scored 19 and 17 points in today’s win over Colts Neck in the SCT Quarterfinals. Megan Furch chipped in with 6 points. Vanessa Pinho added 5 points, and Gigi Caponegro contributed with 4. St John Vianney will now meet No 4 St Rose in what promises to be a fantastic meeting on Monday. This is a rematch of last year’s TOC Semifinals.
